Bahrain-Germany reviews ties in media sector

The President of the Information Affairs Authority Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa during a visit to ARD Germany Channel offices

The President of the Information Affairs Authority Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa paid a visit to ARD Germany Channel and met with the Editor in Chief of the Channel and a number of officials.
Means of cooperation in the area of news and media and capitalizing on the German channel experience were discussed.

Shaikh Fawaz toured the premises and kept abreast of the stations sections, studios and the sophisticated technologies used, as the German channel provides its services both through TV channel and Internet.

Shaikh Fawaz said that such visit comes as part of the IAA desire to enhance cooperation with ARD channel and other well-known channels and capitalize on their experience in order to develop the Bahraini cadre in such field. He voiced the intention of IAA to explore and take advantage of Arab ad International channels in the field of media as this will contribute in the development of Media march in Bahrain.

Shaikh Fawaz also visited the Korber establishments, one of the well know international political, strategic social educational, science and culture establishments. Shaikh Fawaz was received by the head of PR and other senior officials. Means of cooperation was discussed between the two sides, especially in the field of media.
During his visit, Shaikh Fawaz affirmed that the Bahraini Media has witnessed development toward consolidating freedom of expression and enhancing the cadre which reflects the true reflection of HM the King’s reform project.
