Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa has asserted that the “Friends of Yemen” meeting reflects the continuity of the international community’s support to the on-going democratic transition in Yemen, led by President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, in accordance with the GCC Initiative.

Shaikh Khalid also pointed to the need to back the efforts of the Yemeni leadership and government to accelerate progress in the political, economic as well as humanitarian and security fields in order to continue the nation-building process in brotherly Yemen.

This came as the Foreign Minister took part in the “Friends of Yemen” meeting, held here on the sidelines of the 67th session of the UN General Assembly, in the presence of the Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi and the participation of over 39 countries and regional and international organisations.
