Bahrain’s 17-member new cabinet takes oath

MANAMA: HRH the Prime Minister, Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the Deputy Premiers and the Ministers took the official oath before HM King Hamad.

Earlier His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Al-Sakhir Palace on Sunday His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

HRH Premier introduced to HM the King the members of the new cabinet.

After consideration of the Constitution and Royal Order 57 / 2014 dated November 30, 2014, appointing His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa as Prime Minister and assigning him to nominate the new cabinet, and based on the letter addressed to us by the Prime Minister on December 3, 2014, we decree the following:

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, is appointed First Deputy Prime Minister.

The Deputy Premiers are 1- HH Shaikh Mohammad bin Mubarak Al Khalifa – Deputy Prime Minister; 2- HH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa as Deputy Prime Minister; 3- Jawad bin Salim Al-Arrayedh as Deputy Prime Minister; and 4- Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa as Deputy Prime Minister.

The Ministers and their portfolios include: 1- Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al-Mutawa – Minister for Follow-up Affairs; 2: Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa – Minister of Interior; 3: Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammad Al Khalifa – Minister of Foreign Affairs; 4: Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammad Al Khalifa – Minister of Finance; 5- Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi – Minister of Education; 6- Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza – Minister of Energy; 7- Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdulla Al Khalifa – Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowment; 8- Issam bin Abdulla Khalaf – Minister of Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning; 9- Jameel bin Mohammad Ali Humaidan – Minister of Labour; 10- Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammad – Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications; 11- Basim bin Yacoub Al-Hamer – Minister of Housing; 12- Ghanim bin Fadhel Al-Buainain – Minister for Shura Council and House of Representatives Affairs; 13- Sadiq bin Abdulkarim Al-Shehabi – Minister of Health; 14- Major-General Yusuf bin Ahmed bin Hussain Al-Jalahma – Minister for Defence Affairs; 15- Faeqa bint Saeed Al-Saleh – Minister of Social Development; 16- Zayed bin Rashid Al-Zayani – Minister of Industry and Commerce and 17- Isa bin Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi – Minister of Information Affairs.

The Prime Minister shall implement this decree which takes effect as per the date of its issuance and publication in the Official Gazette.
