MANAMA; Deputy Prime Minister H.H Sheikh Ali Bin Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa visited the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) stand at an exhibition on the sidelines of the 19th Middle East Oil Conference (MEOS).

The conference, at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, is being held under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery welcomed HH Shaikh Ali and took him on a tour of the pavilion, where he was briefed on the Company’s operations and high-quality products exported to the world’s leading markets.

He was also told about the GPIC meeting global Occupational Safety, Health and the Environment standards and the company’s keenness on taking part in such exhibitions.

HH Shaikh Ali expressed admiration at the world-class nature of the GPIC’s business and applauded its Management and its high levels of Bahrainisation, which, he said, is a major achievement in making the Company a resounding success at the regional and global level.

HH Shaikh Ali said the government is sparing no effort to provide a fertile environment that makes Bahrain an attractive investment in the industrial and oil sector. He said the highly advanced levels achieved by the GPIC and it being an example of GCC co-operation had made the company stand out as a model to the success of GCC joint ventures.

Dr. Jawahery thanked HH Shaikh Ali for the visit and said the GPIC was always at the forefront of modernisation and development, in the process achieving high levels of profitability and contribution to community initiatives.

He said they were grateful to H.H Sheikh Ali for having visited the stand and reaffirmed his support to the Company and the industrial sector in Bahrain.

Earlier, H.H Sheikh Ali opened the conference and exhibition on behalf of His Royal Highness. The show, which continues until Wednesday (March 11), is organised by the World Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Arabian Exhibition Management in cooperation with the National Oil and Gas Authority.

The exhibition highlights the latest products and technology in the oil industry and provides networking opportunities for representatives of international oil and gas companies as well as gives them a change to take a look at major development in the region.
