The Bahrain Financial Harbour on Saturday announced the opening of its Fine Art Gallery with the Opera Gallery and Salvador Dali’s ‘Awaken Your Imagination’ went on display at an even held under the patronage of the Minister of Culture, Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa.
For the first time ever, Dali’s surrealistic jewelled pieces worth over $4 million were unveiled at the inaugural event. Having designed a number of jewellery pieces throughout his career, each of Dali’s unique works are crafted with selected materials and precious gemstones.
The exhibition will also showcase contemporary bronze sculptures worth over $9.5 million that reflect the artistic vision of the master of surrealism- Salvador Dali.
‘We have been privileged to be the first to exhibit such unique jewellery creations and celebrated sculptures like Profile of Time and Triumphant Elephant by Salavdor Dali” said BFH Managing Director Dr Omar Al Mardi on this occasion.
Taking place from January 28th to 3rd February 2011, in collaboration with Opera Gallery Dubai, the BFH Art Gallery will exhibit artwork worth over $16 million by a range of renowned artists including Picasso, Renoir, Botero Diego Masi, to name a few..
The exhibition will be open free of charge throughout the week from 10am-8pm daily.
Founded in 1994, Opera Gallery Dubai was established in 2008. The success of the gallery is attributed to its enthusiastic and passionate Managing Director, Bertrand Epaud, who has a vision to promote and develop art in the Middle East.

The officials and management team of BFH expressed their keenness in supporting such exhibitions that will serve to enhance the creative and cultural ambiance within BFH.

Located at the West Atrium of the Harbour Mall, BFH Fine Art Gallery boasts of an exhibition space of 275sqm. The Gallery is elegantly designed and has a unique position as the transparent glass allows for panoramic views of the old city of Manama on one side, and the sea and magnificent views of the Bahrain Financial Harbour on the other; signifying both an artistic vision as well as a desire for progress.
