The General command of ”Peninsula Shield Forces” brigadier general Mutlaq Al Azamea asserted these forces entered the Kingdom of Bahrain based on a request by the Bahraini leadership to protect the Bahraini borders including the national accomplishments in light of the current engagement of Bahraini bodies in taking care of internal affairs.
In an interview with ” Al Sharq Al Awsat”, brigadier Mutalq said the that the tendentious media tries to browbeat issues concerning the arrival of the Peninsula Shield forces in the Kingdom of Bahrain which makes the Gulf states more closer and stronger adding that their are directives to involve the Peninsula Shield in each GCC states to conduct training from time to time as they are currently doing in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He asserted that the main task of the Peninsula Shield is to safeguard important military and strategic sites from any external interference.
