Iranian Embassy second secretary Hujatullah Rahmani has been declared persona non grata and ordered to leave Bahrain within 72 hours for his links with the spy cell in Kuwait.
The Foreign Ministry on Monday summoned Iranian Embassy Charge d’Affaires Mahdi Islami and submitted to him a diplomatic memorandum in this regard.
The ministry reiterated its stance rejecting any blatant interference in the internal affairs of Bahrain and the other GCC member countries.
It also urged the Islamic Republic of Iran to stop its irresponsible behaviour, as it represents a dangerous violation of the norms and principles governing international relations and a threat endangering regional security and stability.
