The Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) endorsed the decision of deployment of the Peninsula Shield troops in the Kingdom as legitimate since they were requested by the Bahraini government in accordance with the GCC by-law and the Joint Defence Agreements signed between the member states.
OIC reiterated its rejection of any kind of foreign interference in the domestic affairs of its member states, stressing that states’ sovereignty should be respected, as outlined by OIC’s charter and international laws.
OIC also said that it was deeply concerned with the on-going incidents witnessed by many of its member countries.
