“Bahrain is looking for better relations with Iran affirming the need of proper atmosphere for such ties,” Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa in an interview to a local newspaper said.
The Foreign Minister expressed hopes to improve relations between the two countries despite the blatant and constant Iranian statements in interfering in the Kingdom’s affairs.
The Foreign Minister said that no details were available on the news about Iranian ship reported by Iranian media that it was sent to the Kingdom, denying the availability of information regarding the nature of this ship.
“What we heard about this ship is unofficial news, we don’t know its rout or contents but we are ready to deal with such acts although we hope it is not a serious matter,” Shaikh Khalid in an interview said.
Shaikh Khalid denied that the aim of joining Jordan and Morocco to the GCC council for military purposes to face the Iranian interference in GCC’s affairs.
Shaikh Khalid noted that Jordan asked to join the council officially in which Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal paid a visit to Jordan after his talks with GCC leaders on the requirements needed to join this country to the GCC while Morocco had an old desire to join this body, noting that the membership of Jordan would not be the same as the Moroccan one.
