The landmark achievements of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are the result of the GCC leaders’ wise policies which have proved effective in safeguarding the region’s security and stability amid the growing regional and global challenges, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said, noting that the region’s safeguarding the region’s stability, keeping it away from dangers and crises and promoting GCC unity are the best means to enhance the GCC entity. In this context, HRH Premier stressed the need to intensify meetings between GCC senior officials in order to open up cooperation horizons and fortify the member countries against foreign interference.
“Cooperation between GCC countries should be advanced so as to achieve GCC cohesiveness, which is a must and a strategic choice that GCC states should adopt in order to be able to face the challenges,” HRH Premier said, calling upon GCC countries to act collectively so as to become more efficient in dealing with world changes.
HRH Premier made the comments as he received here today the Omani Minister in Charge of Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi Abdulla who conveyed to him greetings from Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman and Deputy Premier for Cabinet Affairs Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said who wished the kingdom further progress and prosperity under its wise leadership. During the meeting, HRH Premier lauded the deep-rooted fraternal Bahraini-Omani ties, expressing the kingdom’s keen desire to broaden bilateral cooperation at all levels. HRH Premier also praised the fast-paced growth Oman is currently witnessing thanks to the wise leadership of Sultan Qaboos, requesting the Omani officials to deliver his heartfelt greetings to Sultan Qaboos and Fahd bin Mahmood.
