His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa affirmed the importance of media in present times and the real power it forms if utilized in a productive and effective manner towards enlightening the public opinion.
HRH the Premier also emphasised on what the Kingdom of Bahrain enjoys with regards to the freedom of expression that reflects the atmosphere of freedom and its advancement.
He also lauded during his meeting with Saudi journalist and General Director of Al Arabiya Channel Abdulrahman Al Rashid the important role played by Al Arabiya in its political media philosophy and with regards to dealing with various regional and international issues that had earned them respect and credibility.
HRH the Premier highlighted the efforts being exerted by the channel and its commitment to professionalism along with credibility in its media tasks.
He also indicated the fact that Al Arabiya had a very large viewer base on the Arab level. HRH Prince Khalifa said that we in Bahrain were moving on the right path and required greater strength and will for the future of Bahrain. He also affirmed support for all that protected people’s lives, security and finance to come out of this current situation even stronger. He said the experience that Bahrain had gone through must be taken as lessons and that the loyalty to the country was the measure.
HRH Prince Khalifa hailed the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its international impact stating that its support for Bahrain was not strange towards a brother and neighbour country. He also lauded the deep rooted and historic ties existing between the two countries embedded over the years.
For his part Al Rashid extended his thanks and appreciation to HRH Prince Khalifa and lauded the openness and freedom that Bahrain enjoys. He also praised the media advancement and the freedom enjoyed by media outlets in Bahrain along with the keenness by the government in support of these outlets to undertake their duties.
