July 5, 2011

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and his Egyptian counterpart Dr. Essam Sharaf called upon Arab countries to unify their political stances, enhance their partnership and achieve complementarities between them. The two sides urged Arabs to take advantage of their natural resources to develop the industrial sector and other related sectors for the sake of setting up a stronger Arab economy.
His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa also hosted a banquet of honor to visiting Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Essam Sharaf.
The banquet was attended by Deputies of the Premier, the Shura Council Chairman and Parliament Speaker.
“Arab resources should be used to develop Arab peoples,” they said. This came as HRH Premier held this morning, at the Gudaibiya Palace, a working meeting with Dr. Sharaf, who was on a visit to the Kingdom.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed Bahraini-Egyptian ties and discussed ways of broadening bilateral cooperation and coordination in light of the latest regional and global developments, stressing the need to protect and build on the already rich record of bilateral relations full of landmark achievements.

HRH Premier lauded the solid fraternal relations bonding the two countries at all levels and praised Egypt’s honourable supportive stances towards Bahrain and its stability and security, asserting that Egypt will continue playing a pioneering role both at the Arab and international arenas.

HRH Prime Minister also reiterated Bahrain’s full support for restoring stability in Egypt so as to enable it to regain its leading position, hailing Egypt’s historical contributions in all fields.

The two sides also reviewed areas of bilateral relations and agreed to activate joint committees, enhancing trade cooperation through holding a permanent exhibition for Egyptian products in the kingdom, consolidating collaboration in the field of air transport and increasing the exchange of tourist delegations.

The Egyptian side expressed its keen desire to take advantage of the kingdom’s expertise in the field of holding companies. HRH Premier also expressed confidence that Dr. Sharaf’s visit will play an important role in fostering joint cooperation. On his part, the Egyptian Premier expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH Premier, hailing the solid deep-rooted bilateral relations.

He also expressed his country’s keen desire to advance bilateral cooperation at all levels, reiterating Egypt’s full-fledged support for the kingdom’s security and stability and rejection of any foreign attempts to interfere in its domestic affairs or undermine its sovereignty and independence.
