Speaking at his Ramadan Majlis, attended by a number of MPs, ambassadors, academicians, media figures and citizens, Dr. Al Nuaimi asserted that the ministry will rely on advanced electronic settings in designing curricula in order to enable students to deal with them using smart phones and iPad devices.
The plan, to be applied first in technical and vocational schools, is compatible with the ministry’s policies aiming to take advantage of modern technologies and ensure the transition from traditional education to e-one, reflected by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Schools of the Future Projects.
A special training programme for teachers is currently carried out by the ministry, in cooperation with UNESCO, he added.
During the same majlis, Dr. Al Nuaimi also said that French language will be taught at five intermediate schools during the 2011-2011 academic year following the success of last year’s experience, noting that mastery of French will enable Bahraini students to study in French universities or those of any other French-speaking country and help them join French companies active in the kingdom or in the GCC region.
