The Peninsula Shield Force Commander Major General Mutlaq bin Salem Al Azaima’a asserted that the Shield, currently headquartered in Bahrain will sue some satellite channels for spreading fabricating stories concerning the entrance of the Shield force into Bahrain according to the agreements of the GCC body.
Al Azaima’a asserted that the Peninsula Shield Force will open new leading bases in other GCC countries if needed.
In an interview with London- based newspaper Al Sharq Al Awsat the Peninsula Shield Force Commander asserted that the Kingdom was one of the strongest forts of GCC countries and has a strong and well-disciplined army together with loyal and faithful people, stressing that the Kingdom of Bahrain will remain an Arab state with Al Khalifa as ruling family.
“Our mission was and is to secure Bahrain’s vital and strategically important military infrastructure from any foreign interference. Everybody knows that when a state becomes preoccupied with its internal security, this increases its need to secure its international borders. Bahrain is part of the Gulf region, and its forces make up part of the Peninsula Shield, this means that our undertaking of this task is an important and vital part of the role being played by the Peninsula Shield, according to the conventions agreed upon by the GCC states.”
He added some media means is trying to mislead the truth, and this only has one affect, namely to increase our strength and our belief in the justice of our cause, because the Peninsula Shield forces, and the GCC military forces in general, have been established by wise leaders, and are supported by great peoples.
