The Bahrain Bourse closed on Tuesday with a negative note with the Bahrain All Share Index shedding 10.33 points. On Monday the BASI closed at 1,153.88, .89 per cent behind previous close of 1,164.21.
The lower closing was attributed to poor showing by key index heavyweights. Only two companies posted positive results in the day’s performance.
Insurance company Arab Insurance Group (Arig) closed the market at $0.470 gaining $0.005 from previous close of $0.465. Trading volumes touched 10,000. Bahrain Tourism Company also charted positive gaining 0.002 points and closing the day at BD0.302. It had a 0.67 per cent gain over previous close of BD0.300.
However, Aluminium Bahrain closed the day at BD0.510, losing BD0.035 points behind its previous close of BD0.545. The scrip lost 6.42 per cent and trade volume was 32, 3880. Insurance company Ahlia Insurance closed the day at BD0.346, 0.14 points behind previous close of BD0.360. The overall showing was 3.89 per cent behind.
Another index heavyweight Batelco lost 0.004 points to close at BD0.390. The loss was 1.02 per cent behind previous close of BD0.394.
Bahrain Maritime and Mercantile International lost 0.005 points and closed the day at BD0.550. The scrip suffered 0.90 per cent loss behind previous close of BD0.555.
