Britain welcomed the retrial of Bahraini doctors and nurses before civil courts, describing the decision to close the National Safety Court as a “positive development”.
“We welcome the statement made by Bahrain’s Public Prosecutor, announcing the retrial of doctors and nurses before the civil courts”, a British Foreign Office spokesman said. He welcomed the public prosecutor’s decision to ensure the compliance of the National Safety Court verdicts with the rule of the law.
He also welcomed the closure the National Safety Court on October 7, saying that such moves would promote reconciliation and represent an important step to achieve the common goal of peace and stability in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
