His Royal Highness expressed during his meeting in Berlin on Monday with German Chancellor Angela Merkel his appreciation on the support by Germany towards the steps taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain affirming that the kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty the King had adopted the path of democracy and reform along with progress. He also emphasized that it would continue to build on the achievements that were accomplished during this century and that progress was ongoing. His Royal Highness said that the responsible steps taken by His Majesty the King in announcing the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) end of June until the implementation of the report’s recommendations required the cooperation of all to achieve the best results.
His Royal Highness also discussed with Merkel during the meeting several current international issues especially the changes being witnessed in the Arab world and the importance of utilizing them towards the best interests of the people. The meeting also focused on means of further reinforcing cooperation and coordination between the two countries in all fields that include economic, security, political and cultural.
The German Chancellor appreciated the move of the formation of the BICI and the report it had submitted to His Majesty the King last week wishing Bahrain further success in the implementation of the report’s recommendations.
