Operations will start as soon as possible, he added, noting the new city will be designed during the reclamation process in order to ensure the expedite the construction so as to provide housing units for a great number of citizens featuring in the waiting list.
The minister also said that the East Hidd City is among the Housing Ministry’s vital projects for the Muharraq Governorate, noting that the project reflects the strong resolve of the wise leadership and the government to meet the citizens’ needs.
He also expressed delight that the launch of the project will coincide with the kingdom’s celebration of the National and Accession Days, adding that the ministry will hold a special ceremony on the occasion.
He also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Deputy Premier and Chairman of the Services and Infrastructure Committee Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning and Works Ministries, the Electricity and Water Authority and all the concerned sides for their full-fledged support for the project.
