The Security Forces intervened to disperse a group of saboteurs who emerged from behind the headquarters of Al-Wefaq headquarters in Al-Zinj and started hurling stones.
The security forces also dispersed another group of saboteurs, preventing them from reaching an Al-Wefaq-led rally at Tubli Bay.
“The Interior Ministry banned the rally as it was close to a vital highway to ensure the flow of traffic and citizens’ interests are not disrupted,” Capital Police director-general in a statement confirmed.
However, Al Wefaq spokesperson a TV statement said that the meeting was convened at opposition office following the completion of the required procedures.
It may be recalled illegal gatherings and meetings are banned by the law as part of ensuring the public safety of citizens and residents in the country and the organisers require permission prior to any such gathering or rally in Bahrain.
