“The luncheon of BHB’s new website comes in line with the steps that BHB has taken to implement its strategy that aims at developing all aspects of the bourse’s activities. He also clarified that BHB had benefited from the latest technological applications that would eventually enhance the effectiveness of BHB’s operations, and provide all the information needed by investors and other visitors of BHB’s website to take their investment decisions, supporting the levels of transparency and disclosure at BHB in particular, and the capital markets sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain in general,” Deputy Director of Bahrain Bourse, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, said.
“The bourse’s new website is considered a vital tool for providing information to investors in both Arabic and English, in which the website includes a variety of information relating to current and historical data as well as settlement and central depositary procedures,” he added.
He also emphasized that that BHB will continue enriching the contents of the website and its technical facilities in order to provide investors and concerned parties with data, information and services as fast and easy as possible.
“The bourse’s website also contains the bourse’s publications (reports, daily and periodic publications) with their archive, and the legislations and listing requirements for securities and investment instruments at BHB, along with other key information,” Shaikh Khalifa, added.
“Within the bourse’s efforts to create more channels of communication between investors and the website’s visitors from abroad, BHB was keen to launch through its new website its “Facebook” and “Twitter” pages. This will hopefully enrich the process of communication, interaction and exchange of information between the bourse and its investors and grant them the opportunity to receive the bourse’s latest news and publications through different electronic applications,” Shaikh Khalifa said.
Shaikh Khalifa hoped that BHB’s new website will contribute to enhancing investment awareness among investors who wish to receive more information and data that can assist them in taking the best investment decisions.
The new design of BHB’s website aims at simplifying the process of locating, saving and using the information on the site by using fast and multiple links. The bourse’s website also displays BHB’s trading reports and share prices in different electronic formats, including charts, statistical shapes, and volume of trading. Moreover, investors can link to the RSS Feed, which allows them to receive the bourse’s latest news without visiting BHB’s website.
The deputy director said the BHB was working to make its website as a part of an ecosystem that provides services and information to investors through the bourse’s new website, which will continue providing the settlement and central depository electronic services (e-services) that are available for investors in Bahrain and abroad. These services enable investors to monitor their accounts instantly regardless of their geographic location.
The bourse has launched its beta website in August, so that visitors get used to its new look and at the same time, they were given the opportunity to provide us with any suggestions or comments that they might have on the website before launching it officially.
