HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa opens the Park by pushing a button
His Royal Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has vowed that the government’s development and service projects will go ahead un-wavered in order to boost the urban sector and create recreational facilities for the aim of enhancing family tourism and consolidate ecological efforts.

Speaking as he patronized the opening ceremony of the “Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park” in Hidd, HRH Premier asserted that recreational development projects aim to offer the citizens more opportunities to enjoy their lives.

“We are determined to bring about more development achievements and enhance the kingdom’s infrastructure for the interests of the citizens,” he also said, reiterating the government’s strong resolve to set up more service and leisure projects across the country for the sake of boosting the tourism sector and the sustainable development efforts adopted by the kingdom.

HRH Premier also pointed out that the steady growth of development projects testifies to the government’s keen desire to enhance cooperation with municipal councils for the aim of establishing more projects that meet the expectations of the citizens and residents.

He also noted that the spread of parks and gardens in the kingdom and the increase in the size of green areas are in line with the strategic structural plan aiming to consolidate urban development, taking advantage of the available ecological and natural resources.

HRH Premier also said that the “Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park” in Hidd, the largest of its kind in the kingdom, will boost the on-going efforts to develop and modernize the Muharraq Governorate and improve the quality of the services provided for the citizens, residents and tourists thanks to its outstanding facilities.

HRH Premier also affirmed that municipal work is an essential pillar of sustainable development and said that municipal councils are a link between local communities and executive authorities, praising the efforts made by the members of the Muharraq Municipal Council to set up projects that meet the citizens’ aspirations.

HRH Premier also paid tribute to the Municipalities Affairs and urban Planning Minister Dr. Joma’a Al Ka’abi, the executive body of the Muharraq Municipality, members of the Municipal Council and the park officials for their efforts to establish such a state-of-the art park.

Dr. Joma’a Al Ka’abi delivered a statement in which he extended his heartfelt thanks and gratitude to HRH Premier for patronizing the opening ceremony, which, he said, reflects HRH Premier’s constant support for the landmark development march witnessed by the kingdom and the on-going efforts to enhance municipal work nationwide.

He also noted that the opening of the park, coinciding with the kingdom’s celebrations of the National and Accession Days, adds to the kingdom’s rich record of landmark achievements and consolidates the efforts made to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, according to the work plan of the government, led by HRH Premier.

Minister Al Ka’abi also affirmed that the “Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park” is a distinguished municipal project that has been carried out according to HRH Premier’s directives and close follow up.

He also asserted that the project is the result of the fruitful cooperation between the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry and the Muharraq Municipal Council, in line with the ministry’s strategic plan aiming to enhance sustainable urban development through increasing the size of green areas and providing family recreational facilities, outlined by the National Consensus Dialogue.

The Muharraq Municipal Council Chairman Abdul Nasser Youssef Al Mahmid delivered a statement in which he asserted that Muharraq citizens are proud of HRH Premier’s patronage of the opening ceremony of the park, noting that HRH Premier’s attendance of the ceremony filled their hearts with joy.

He also pointed out that they consider HRH Premier as the mastermind of the kingdom’s renaissance, development and urban boom, adding that HRH Premier has been the best aide to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in implementing his pioneering Reform Project thanks to his globally acclaimed qualities.

A documentary, highlighting HRH Premier’s contributions and pioneering role in boosting municipal work in the Kingdom, was shown.
