HM King Hamad attends Bahrain First Festival 2011

HM King Hamad mingles with young students at the event
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa today ordered the facility to be established as he patronized Bahrain First Festival 2011.

The multi-purpose centre will feature handball, basketball, volley ball and tennis in addition to futsal.

The planned facility will also be used for hosting scientific, educational and technical activities, events and expos towards cementing relations between students.

It is expected to benefit over 127,000 public school students, in addition to more than 48,000 students from the private schools.

The Education Ministry organized the festival at the Bahrain National Stadium as part of festivities marking HM the King’s Accession and the National Day.

HM King Hamad was welcomed on arrival by Education Minister Dr Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi and other ministry officials.

Over 30,000 public and private school students rallied together to welcome HM the King with chants and a standing ovation.

Addressing the event, HM the King thanked all the participants for expressing their good feelings in all events.

He described the 2011 festival as reflecting their deep patriotic fervor and love for the motherland. He reaffirmed his full support for the educational march, being a pivotal cornerstone in building a bright future for the country and citizens.

He paid tribute to educational staff for their efforts to hone future generations, acknowledging the teachers’ crucial role and patriotic mission in disseminating science and fostering values.

“Promoting the status of teachers and their role in society features among our top priorities”, HM said.

HM the King voiced his support for the ministry’s to foster the values of tolerance and coexistence among students and promote the culture of human rights – stemming from genuine religious and civilizational values and representing an integral part of Bahrain’s firm interest in these human values.

Education Minister Dr Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi also addressed the event, congratulating HM the King on the Accession and the 40th National Day.

He also thanked HM King Hamad for patronized the 6th edition of the Bahrain First Festival. He outlined Bahrain’s landmark educational strides.

He then presented HM the King with illustrated book documenting Bahrain’s long-dating educational history, in a addition to collection titled “Works and Letters in Love of the Leader”.

The Bahrain First Festival 2011 featured an operetta engaging over 3000 primary students, celebration loyalty to Bahrain and national unity cementing citizens.
