The General Directorate of the Capital Governorate Police announced that a 59-year-old woman, who had been receiving medical treatment at the Psychiatric Hospital, set herself on fire at her home in Sanabis on Friday, January 13th. She died as a result of burn injuries on Saturday morning.
The General Directorate reported that the police received a call on Friday and went directly to the scene. An ambulance took the woman to the Salmaniya Medical Complex. All legal procedures were taken and the Public Prosecutor was notified.
The woman has a history of suicide attempts, having tried to kill herself by drinking detergents and also by taking medicines.
