His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa reiterated the principled stance as he received at Al-Safriya Palace Ismail Haniyeh and the accompanying delegation, on visit to Bahrain as part of a regional tour.
HM King Hamad welcomed Haniyeh and discussed with him latest developments in the Palestinian territories.
He stressed the importance for Palestinians to join ranks and stand united to confront the challenges facing the Palestinian cause.
He underlined the need to reach a just, comprehensive and permanent settlement in the Arab region towards consolidating security, stability and peace.
HM the King also reiterated Bahrain’s firm support for the Palestinian people in this critical junction.
Haniyeh extended thanks and appreciation to HM King Hamad, on behalf of all Palestinian people – inside the occupied territories and in the Diaspora.
He lauded HM King Hamad and Bahraini people for the Kingdom’s honourable stances in support of Palestinian people and its just cause.
He hailed HM the King’s initiatives and charity projects aimed at alleviating the Palestinians’ suffering.
He reaffirmed strong support for Bahrain and its Arab identity, describing the Kingdom as a red line, being an Arab and Islamic country.
He also praised Bahrain’s reforms, development achievements and democratic march in the era of HM the King.
Haniyeh updated HM the King on the current situation in the Palestinian territories and developments of the Palestinian-Israeli dialogue.
