An Immigration official on Friday confirmed that in the last 24 hours, four more foreign ‘activists’ participating in unauthorized protests have been deported for lying on immigration forms.
Tighe Barry, William James Kelly, Susan “Medea” Benjamin and Elaine Murtagh all obtained visas upon arrival at Bahrain International Airport during the last week.
The visas were issued for the purposes of tourism but all were participating in illegal demonstrations. The latest arrests come in a week in which a handful of foreigners have taken advantage of the “visa upon arrival” system to break the laws in Bahrain.
