Barclays Wealth, a leading global wealth manager, announced the appointment of Philippe Hofer as Managing Director and Market Head for Africa Offshore within International Private Bank, Europe Middle East and Africa (IPB EMEA). Based in Geneva, Philippe will have a dual reporting line into Nomkhita Nqweni, Market Manager, Africa, and Patrick Ramsey, Head of Barclays Wealth Switzerland.
In this role Philippe will work closely with the local Sales Managers and Front Office Heads in Geneva, London and Dubai. He will assume the day-to-day management of the IPB Africa Bankers and drive the delivery of Barclays Wealth growth agenda and targets for Africa Offshore.
Philippe joins from UBS where he has had considerable success building and leading Banker teams in emerging markets. He has extensive experience in wealth management having spent 23 years at UBS fulfilling various functions, including Market Head for Africa and Turkey.
