His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said the future of Bahrain is prosperous under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
He was speaking as he received at his court senior officials, clerics, the Intelligentsia, journalists, media persons and citizens.
He lauded the patriotic stances of the Bahraini people and their steadfast opposition to all attempts aimed at undermining social unity and cohesion.
He stressed HM the King has been successful in setting up a unique institutional system which opened the door for freedoms and popular participation that contravene resorting to uncivilized manners of expressing opinion.
HRH the Prime Minister called on citizens to assume their role in defending the kingdom and debunking fallacies by those who are plotting against the nation.
He underscored the need to exploit openness to maximize achievements, further promote the rule of the law and boost security and stability.
He said freedom and democracy which have been anchored in Bahrain have to be protected from any abuse.
He affirmed that subversive acts and vandalizing properties have nothing to do with freedom.
He pledged to ensure such acts are handled legally to guarantee people’s safety and thwart attempts to jeopardize the nation.
He said even in the most democratic countries such acts can never be condoned under the pretext of democracy for security and stability is top priority.
He pointed out that differences in views are a healthy phenomenon in a free and democratic society. However, these differences should not encroach on the national interest and derail of its natural and civilizational path.
He stressed the government’s keen interest to ensure the welfare of all citizens, pointing out that the Bahraini people have always been and will always remain a tightly-knit family and any attempt to drive wedges will be doomed to failure.
HRH the Prime Minister praised Bahraini media competencies, describing them as the invincible fortress against misleading media campaigns waged against the nation.
He also reviewed with the audience regional and international developments and urged to boost cooperation among Arab nations.
