He stressed the growing importance of the strategic alliance bonding Bahrain and the US in light of regional political developments.
“The US considers Bahrain as a member of the family”, he said; stressing the ability of both countries to promote relations, with Bahrain pushing its fledgling democratic march further. He described the establishment of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) as an unprecedented move.
He pointed out that he had been updated on the progress of the peaceful dialogue and national dialogue, adding that he spoke to people and learned about the current situation on the ground.
He also expressed the hope that all parties would abhor violence, stressing that the reform process would continue unabated.
He hailed the implementation of the (BICI) recommendations, citing the reinstatement of sacked employees in particular.
