Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro met with the President of Kinoshita Pearl Akira Kinoshita on the sidelines of the official visit by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Japan.
During the meeting which was held at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, the Minister praised the technical and outstanding level owned by Kinoshita Pearl in terms of natural pearls, stressing Bahrain keenness to cooperate in this area, especially that Bahrain is renowned in the world for its natural pearls. Dr. Fakhro also praised the efforts made by leaderships of the two governments in enhancing economic cooperation mechanisms between them and praised the role played by Japan in technology field, which serves many sectors especially the industrial ones, where Japan is one of the major exporting and manufacturing technology and informatics.
Kinoshita Pearl” is one of the few Japanese company specialized in natural and cultured pearl. They developed new technology “Shell Xray Scan”. This technology is to examine the shell with unopened in order to check if there is pearl inside and their stage of development and; only suitably mature pearls are opened, returning others to sea.
The meeting was attended by Eman Al.Doseri, acting Assistant Undersecretary for Foreign Relations and Bob Hughes, Commercial Advisor at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
