Bahrain-Thai inks MoUs on culture, food & tourism

His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister met in Gudaibiya Palace in the presence of Prime Minister of the friendly Kingdom of Thailand Her Excellency Mrs. Yingluck Shinawatra with the Thai businessmen’s delegation accompanying Her Exellency the Prime Minister of Thailand.

Both Premiers witnessed the signing of three agreements paving the way for the private sectors to play a greater role in exploring more avenues in trade, tourism, business, investment and cultural sectors.

During the meeting, HRH the Prime Minister emphasized that the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Thailand have vast open horizons for mutual cooperation through joint ventures implementable by business people in the private sector in both countries.

HRH the Prime Minister pointed out that businesspeople in any country constitute an important close link in the series of relations and therefore the private sector and businessmen in both friendly countries shall be provided with all support and assistance from the Government in order to boost bilateral cooperation between both friendly Kingdoms.

Both HRH the Prime Minister and Her Excellency the Prime Minister of Thailand accentuated their aspirations increase the volume of mutual trade exchange through agreements between both countries in the light of solid bilateral relations, pointing out that opportunities are abound to consolidate bilateral cooperation relations between the two friendly countries and to benefit from diversity of Thai products to be marketed in the Kingdom of Bahrain and in countries of the region, citing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s great potentials in terms of expertise of financial and commercial firms in joint ventures.

His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa received at Gudhaibiya Palace this morning, the Thai Prime Minister, Yingluck Shinawatra, within the framework of her visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, as being official invited by HRH the Premier.
The two sides, the Bahraini chaired by His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa and the Thai Prime Minister; Yingluck Shinawatra agreed to develop the relations between the two friendly countries in the political areas, and to open new cooperation horizons in the economic, investment and development fields.

The two sides also decided to hold a meeting for the joint supreme committee of the two countries in the second mid of next October, where there will also be a meeting for the Bahraini and Tai businessmen in the Kingdom of Thailand.
Both sides also agreed to exchange support and increase coordination in all areas and exchange expertise in all different fields as well, and continue the discussion for more detailed issues in the next meeting of the supreme committee.
During the meeting, both sides also reinforced the bilateral relations between them and reviewed the existing opportunities of each side and the facilities and services which support and strengthen mutual cooperation in all areas. They also agreed that Bahrain supports Thailand on world markets, expecting Bahrain to be the gate for the Thai goods to the region.
On the other hand, the Thai Prime Minister invited His Royal Highness the Prime Minister to visit Thailand and participate in world’s economic forum for East Asia.
Both sides signed three Memoranda of understanding, the first concerns the cultural areas, the second concerns the tourism areas, and the third is the Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the field of food security, trade and investment in agricultural products and agricultural commodities, especially the halal food.
Meanwhile, His Royal Highness the Premier held a luncheon in honor of the Thai Prime Minister and the accompanying delegation, where it was attended by Deputies Premier, the Chairmen of Shura Council and Council of Representatives, a number of ministers, officials, and businessmen in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
