Bahraini authorities keep an eye on prices, supply chain

Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro on Saturday reaffirmed the Ministry’s keenness on following up all developments of local market and the prices trends, especially food and consumers commodities that, pointing out the positive role played by traders and importers in order to achieve market stability and provide all requirement for citizens all the time.

The minister visited the local markets which include Manama Central Market, Bahrain Flour Mill as well as Seef Mall and Fraser Suite residence adjacent to the Seef Mall.

During the visit to the Manama Central Market for Fruits and Vegetables, the minister was briefed on market and shoppers movement. Ebrahim Alameer assured streamlined sale and purchase and the availability of different varieties of vegetable and fruits in abundant quantities, confirming the stability of prices.

Butchers confirmed the availability of required meat in sufficient quantities. General Manager of Bahrain Live Stock Company Ibrahim Salman confirmed that there is enough stock of cattle.

The minister visited Bahrain Flour Mills and was briefed on the company’s production and distribution mechanisms to markets.

He also paid a similar visit to the Seef Mall and was updated on growing numbers of visitors, sales and discounts to attract shoppers.
