The event is being held in cooperation with the Ministry of industry and Commerce represented by Standardization and Metrology Directorate during the period from May 28-30.
Secretary General of GCC Standardization Organization Nabeel Mulla thanked Undersecretary of Commerce Affairs Ahmed Bubshait at the opening of the conference.
One of the main topics that covered on the workshop was identifying GCC legislative system to adjust products and technical regulations on product safety and responsible on product damage. European Expert Mr. Norbert gave a detailed description on the system applied in the European Union Countries to ensure products safety and what is associated with activities of conformity assessment, accreditation and market surveillance.
The workshop has attracted specialists from national standardization bodies, control and legislation side, inspection, as well as manufacturing or testing products side.
It is worth mentioning that this workshop comes within the continued development given by GSO in cooperation with member of national standardization to raise and build their capacity, as standardization is working on an annual basis to determine their training needs, while GSO is drawing annual plan to implement training activities, workshops, conferences, field visits, seminars and others.
