Bahrain TV switches over transmission to Noor-Sat

IAA President Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa signs agreement with Noor Sat CEO Omar Shoter
Within the framework of the Information Affairs Authority (IAA)’s keen desire to develop Radio and TV broadcasting and in line with the development and modernization it is currently witnessing, IAA President Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohamed Al Khalifa signed with the Board Chairman of Noor-Sat Omar Shoter an agreement to broadcast Bahrain TV Bouquet on Noor-Sat satellite starting from this month.

IAA President affirmed that the agreement will help increase the number of viewers of the Bahrain TV, hailing in this regard the reputation enjoyed by Noor-Sat.

He also asserted that IAA will carry on implementing its plans and programmes aiming to provide distinguished media services for viewers of the Bahrain TV bouquet using the latest technological innovations.

The two sides also discussed means of bolstering cooperation between them.

Omar Shoter expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Shaikh Fawaz for his outstanding efforts to upgrade the Bahraini media march, praising the landmark achievements of IAA attained in a short period.

He also indicated that broadcasting the Bahrain TV bouquet on Nile Sat and Noor Sat will double the number of its viewers.

NOORSAT ® Co. W.L.L. was established in Bahrain in December 2004 as a private company to provide satellite space segments, and operate satellite based communications infrastructure for the Arab World and neighbouring countries.

As the first fully privately owned satellite service provider in the MENA region, NOORSAT ® satellite fleet is uniquely positioned to serve the growing demand in the broadcasting and telecommunications sectors.

NOORSAT ® provides ample capacity at the only hotspots serving the Arab World from the satellites NOORSAT ® 1 (EB2) at Badr Al Arab location 25.5° E and NOORSAT ® 7 (AB7) at Badr Al Nile location 7° W, presenting the opportunity to broadcasters to guarantee the instant reception of their TV and radio channels at all viewers” satellite dishes in the Arab World without the need for re-pointing or any modifications.

In addition, NOORSAT ® has expanded its satellite capacities to include NOORSAT ® 3 (AB2) at 8° W, NOORSAT ® 3C (E3C) at 3° E and NOORSAT 5 (IS15) at 85.15° E, to cater for the increasing demand for various Video and Telecom services.

The number of channels hosted on the Noorsat platform has grown in line with its strategy of continuous progress and rapid growth. Currently NOORSAT ® satellites are transmitting over 200 TV and radio channels that serve a broad audience of millions of viewers from East Asia, Middle East, North Africa and parts of Europe.
