Shaikh Fawaz slams bias media campaigns

July 3, 2012
0

IAA President Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa
The IAA President Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa denounced unfair, biased external media campaigns which targeted the Kingdom of Bahrain, especially biased falsified news reporting that comes from Iran-owned – or sponsored – satellite TV channels, in view of their provocation of sectarian strife, hatred and terrorism.

At the same time the IAA President expressed gratitude and appreciation to the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s leadership for their support to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s security and stability in the face of security threats and provocative hostile media campaigns aimed at stirring political strife, according to a report published by the Bahrain News Agency quoting Shaikh Fawaz.

Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, in an exclusive interview with the London-based (Al-Majalah) magazine correspondent Kamal Al-Sir, ascribed the IAA’s resolution to suspend its TV channels broadcast on Arabsat as a protest against failure by Arabsat to take legal action in closing down aggressive Iranian channels which violated all Arab and international conventions, pointing out that the Kingdom of Bahrain demanded the expulsion of Al-Manar and Al-Nour TV channels which belong to the Lebanese Hezbollah from membership in the Federatuib of Arab Countries’ Radio Stations and to cancel their membership as well as suspend their broadcast in view of their deliberate instigation of hatred and sectarian strife on Arabian satellites.

The IAA President Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, said that the Kingdom of Bahrain has already surmounted the brunt of the aftermath of the unfortunate events of February-March 2011 thanks to the wisdom of its pragmatic political leadership and its diligent tackling of the country’s affairs through compliance with the ongoing reform process initiated by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, through equilibrium between restoration of security and stability, implementing the National Consensus Dialogue views and BICI’s recommendation.

Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa affirmed that acts of violence, vandalism and terrorism are unjustifiable at a time when all lawful channels are open for freedom of expression of opinion.

The King Hamad University Hospital has recently signed cooperation agreements with major health insurance services providers in the Kingdom of Bahrain after the official inauguration the hospital’s private practice clinics.

This step aims at providing easy access to health-insurance cardholders who would like to avail from advanced health facilities provided by the KHUH hospital which has modern, well-equipped medical facilities and a highly qualified specialist medical staff.
