The Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan announced the arrest of four vandals suspected for participating in rioting on Saturday.
The Chief condemned the violent acts and said the vandalism and blocking of major thoroughfares such as King Faisal Road, Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Road and Shaikh Isa bin Salman Road with burning tires spreads fear and negatively effects public and business interests.
The Chief also condemned the vandals’ use of iron rods and Molotov cocktails to attack police and citizens. He said a car, owned by a private Bahraini citizen, was attacked in Tubli. Police took legal steps to disperse the rioters and restore order.
