Shaikh Khalid during his follow-up meeting with the Minister of Municipalities and Urban Planning Dr Juma Al Ka’abi and Education Ministry Undersecretary for Resources and Services Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa called upon the placing of a detailed plan which includes encouraging the private sector to investment in private schools with their commitment to high standards of quality and excellence. This he said was aimed towards fulfilling the increasing demand for educational services and maintaining the advanced standards achieved by the kingdom in this field.
Shaikh Khalid emphasized the need to place a future vision related to the incorporation of modern technology in education and utilizing various educational programmes along with the development of school curriculum. Meanwhile, the Deputy Premier lauded the great efforts exerted by the Ministry of Education in improving the performance of schools through providing more training opportunities for educators.
During the meeting Shaikh Hisham presented a briefing on the ministry’s efforts and projects related to constructing schools and facilities in the coming years in various areas in the kingdom. He also affirmed the positive impact of extending the school hours for secondary level students that directly improved the standard of education.
Shaikh Hisham indicated that Bahrain was able to increase the average study period reaching 924 hours compared to 920 in advanced countries. He also said that the ministry was planning to extend the school hours in the intermediate level beginning of next year.
