The delegation representatives from the Bahrain International Airport (BIA) along with the Airport valued partners, Civil Aviation Affairs, Bapco, Bahrain Duty Free, Bahrain Airport Services and the Ministry of Culture seized this opportunity by promoting their respective products and services during the event while representing the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The 2012 event attracted over 3000 delegates from over 80 countries including over 1,000 airports and 200 national tourism boards.
The tourism sector plays a crucial role in bolstering the national economy and promoting Bahrain’s status as a prized cultural tourism destination which the team delegation and all partners have highlighted for Bahrain’s cultural and tourism assets and its deep-rooted heritage.
Featuring in its seven hard-hitting, content-rich panel sessions, this year’s summit brought together over 35 leading speakers from across the industry including airlines, airports, governments, travel and tourism and air cargo and discussed major industry challenges ranging from policy and taxation to environmental as well as marketing and social media.
“Bahrain delegation’s participation in the World Route Development Forum 2012 and the coinciding exhibition will help the Kingdom to showcase its products and service before a global audience and industry representatives,” Bahrain Airport Company CEO Mohammed Al Binfalah, said in a statement.
“Bahrain International Airport’s products and services went on display at great stand during the exhibition on the sidelines of the World Route Development Forum 2012 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) and have proved to be a popular spot for the delegates that passed by,” he said.
“Such initiatives have provided an ample opportunity to members of the delegation to share their expertise, products and services during specialized platforms like World Route, which has emerged as one of the world’s leading air travel, aviation and services industry shows since its launch in 1996,” he added.
The Bahrain International Airport’s stand at the exhibition featured hosts in traditional dresses which became a popular stop for pictures from delegates as well as serving Arabic coffee and traditional Bahraini sweets as well as showcasing Bahrain’s culture and business opportunities. A lucky draw was also conducted on daily basis for visitors of the stand.
