The General Director of the Northern Governorate Police announced that on-duty police patrols were attacked by a group of rioters on Budaiya Road on Tuesday evening. The rioters used petrol bombs and iron rods in the attack. Police used necessary and proportionate force to restore order and disperse the group.
A follow-up investigation conducted to identify and locate suspects led investigators to Salmaniya Medical Center where two people had recently arrived with injuries and were identified as participants in the Budiaya riot attack on police officers. The suspects received full medical care. The search continues for others who participated in the attack.
