“We are the first jewellery house in the world based in Paris and also the only family owned jewellery business in France passing through generations,” Albert Kfouri, President Middle East for Mellerio dits Meller told the 24X7 News on Tuesday.
“We have a history of producing the rare pieces for Queens and Kings and hence become the very special brand over the years,” he said.
“We have been keeping the record of the all pieces produced by our jewellery house as we get inspiration from the past,” he added.
Mellerio is showcasing, among others, the tiara of Queen of Italy Margretta called Monte Rosa and produced 150 years ago.
This year, eminent jewellery houses and watch manufacturers making a return appearance at Jewellery Arabia 2012 include Chopard, David Morris, Gaspari, Harry Winston, Piaget and Staurino Fratelli amongst numerous others. Mellerio dits Meller, one of the oldest and most prestigious family companies in Europe, is set to exhibit in the Middle East for the first time at Jewellery Arabia 2012.
Watches also remain a prominent feature at the exhibition. Visitors can source the latest in watch design and manufacture from a vast range of important brands including A. Lange & Söhne, Audemars Piguet, Breguet, Baume & Mercier, Corum, Hublot, Omega, Officine Panerai, Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin to name just a few.
Many of these high profile international jewellery and watch brands will use the exhibition as a platform to introduce exclusive collections and limited edition pieces to the Middle East collector’s market.
Large country pavilions from Brazil, Hong Kong, India and Malaysia complements this line up. Collectively, these groups of companies reflect the very best manufacturing capabilities, design expertise and gemmological resources that their respective countries have to offer.
