Some of the key items on the meeting’s agenda included initiating a study on developing an Arabic online portal for transport trade and a voluntary audit system for the International Maritime Organization (IMO) member states. Other items discussed included the review of the regulations of the Agreement on the Liberalization of Air Transportation between Arab countries as well as the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme.

High-profile meetings such as this provide an excellent platform to share knowledge and expertise, and help in aligning the country’s transportation strategy with the integrated Arab transportation strategy, which will serve all economic sectors in the Kingdom, enhance productivity, and ultimately help to improve the quality of land, sea, and air transportation, in keeping with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030,” Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, said.
