Social Development Minister, Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al-Balooshi urged all non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to abide by the law and the principles of disclosure and transparency and regulate their situation.
The measure is in line of the decisions undertaken by the Cabinet to root out terror and clamp down on its financial sources.
The minister stressed the Government’s resolve to enforce the law on all parties and take legal action against violators.
The crackdown is also in conformity with the international principles of transparency and covenants on combating money laundering.
The minister announced zero-tolerance against charity, social guidance and religious institutions working outside framework of the law.
