Fifty ladies of categories two and three of the housing beneficiaries received flats during the ceremony which was organized by SCW and the Ministry of Housing.
SCW Secretary-General Hala Al Ansari delivered a speech in which she affirmed that launching such initiatives for Bahraini women in cooperation with the Ministry of Housing, comes in line with HRH Princess Sabeeka’s wise directives and personal follow-up to broaden the scope of female beneficiaries from housing services.
She stressed that since its establishment, SCW has been working on developing the sustainability of services provided for Bahraini women. She said this is in commitment to the principles of equal opportunities and non-discrimination against women in line with the National Action Charter, the Constitution and HM the King’s directives.
Minister of Housing Bassim bin Yaqoub Al Hammar said Massakin is the outcome of fruitful cooperation between SCW and the Housing Ministry to provide the service of temporary flats for the fifth category which includes widows, divorcees and abandoned wives. He said that the service is considered an additional one for Bahraini women in accordance with the standards and requirements of the Ministry of Housing.
He asserted that the Housing Ministry is studying all suggestions and ways to ensure a decent life for this category out of the Ministry’s commitment to providing social housing for all beneficiaries and in accordance to religious teachings, the Islamic and Arab culture and identity as well as the Bahraini authentic values and traditions.
HRH Princess Sabeeka presented 50 ladies of the second and third categories with property deeds.
The Minister of Housing presented HRH Princess Sabeeka with a commemorative gift in appreciation of her pioneering role in supporting Bahraini women and preserving their stability.
HRH Princess Sabeeka unveiled the plaque of Massakin housing project and got briefed on it by the Minister of Housing.
