The Minister of Education and the General Director of the National Action Charter monument Khawla Al Mohannadi presented his Majesty a brief on the programmes being organised for students and visitors due to the fact that it is one of the symbolic structures it Bahrain’s modern history. During the presentation the importance of these visits in linking the new generation with modern and historic heritage of the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of the reform project of His Majesty the King were also indicated. The Minister of Education also highlighted the fact that the structure included the names of all those who had voted for the 2001 National Action Charter.
His Majesty visited the temporary headquarters of King Hamad Digital Library on the occasion of the start of its activities and activation of agreements with world libraries.
He was also briefed on what had been accomplished towards building the library’s new headquarters and future programmes to serve research in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The library will enable visitors to have access to 156 million digital titles found in well-known libraries that memorandums of understandings were signed. At the conclusion of the visit His Majesty the King expressed his admiration towards what he had seen in the National Action Charter monument and the great efforts exerted by all those working to activate its role in reinforcing national unity. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to all employees at the monument that forms one of the prominent structures in the Kingdom of Bahrain. His Majesty said that the establishment of the digital library and the beginning of its temporary programmes was something to be proud of as it provides an addition to the generation of researchers and scholars.
The minister of education lauded His Majesty’s visit indicated that the structure was considered today part of the national history as it provides information, photographs and documents.
