The adoption of the National Action Charter by 98.4% people in 2001 opened a new era for progress and development. Bahrain will tomorrow (Thursday) celebrate the 12th anniversary of the National Action Charter.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa seized the occasion to hail the landmark covenant, which was endorsed by a sweeping majority.

“The National Action Charter is the embodiment of national consensus and unity between citizens”, he said, stressing the need to continue the march and anchor the lofty values endorsed in the charter.
In a statement issued today, he hailed the endorsement of the charter as the dawning of a new era in the march of national work, thus building on landmark development achievements.

The ratification of the charter, he said, paved the way for the future and laid the foundations for a national political, economic and social roadmap, hailing Bahrainis’ tolerance, peaceful co-existence and openness.

He described the deplorable events as the catalyst strengthening commitment in the principles and values enshrined in the National Action Charter, being the cornerstone to promote modernization and development through a gradual process.

He hailed Bahrainis’ awareness and keenness on civil social values, being the guarantor of public liberties and equality, stressing people’s ability to overcome challenges and continue building a full-fledged modern state.

HRH the Premier paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for his call to resume the national dialogue and address pending political issues, hailing Royal keenness on national unity.

He described the charter as a source of inspiration to maintain national security and stability preserve unity and steer society away from rifts and disunity.

“This will not be achieved unless we agree unanimously to put Bahrain and people’s vital interests above all other considerations”, he said, urging all parties to join ranks firmly combat all that jeopardizes national security and unity.
HRH the Premier highlighted the need to acknowledge Bahrain’s landmark achievements for the sake of citizens’ welfare, urging more efforts to meet desired results and achieve political stability and security.

In this regard, he described national stability as a collective responsibility engaging all parties, adding that no prosperity would be achieved unless security reigns in the country.

The Premier stressed the need to draw the lesson from the crisis which hit Bahrain and spare no effort to achieve prosperity, being the cornerstone to protect the nation.

He hailed Bahrain’s landmark strides on the path of progress and prosperity ever since the national action charter was endorsed, urging perseverance to meet people’s ambitions and aspirations.

He urged citizens to celebrate the anniversary of the National Action Charter as a day of unity and tolerance – which have always characterized peace loving Bahraini society all along its history – as well as a fresh start for nation-building.

“The march of national work will continue unabated thanks to people’s unity”, he said, adding that no obstacle would hamper efforts to build a pioneering development model to emulate in Bahrain.
