Microsoft Oman is participating in COMEX as a Lead Sponsor; its presence will get the visitors closer to the latest innovations across the Windows platform and the Cloud computing portfolio. The event will take place at the Oman International Exhibition Centre from 25 to 29 March 2013 and will bring together the IT and Business communities providing Microsoft a platform to demonstrate innovative technology solutions and scenarios, highlighting the increasingly important role that technology plays in shaping people’s lives.

Microsoft will provide visitors to its stall access to the pioneering next-generation IT solutions and will discuss with them ways and means to help them improve their businesses’ productivity and Return on Investment (ROI) using technology. Microsoft is giving a special focus to cloud computing and will showcase its latest innovations and the cloud capabilities that Microsoft Office 365, Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 present to businesses and consumers. A number of Microsoft Partners in Oman and the region will be present to feature their innovations developed on Microsoft platforms such as Windows 8, Windows Phone, Office 365, Lync, among others.

“We are pleased to be present at COMEX for the 4th consecutive year; this yearly participation comes as part of our commitment to the Sultanate and our local partners, to continually bring the latest in technology that help improve people’s lives and empower businesses in order to support the economic reform mandated in the Vision 2020,” Tareq Hijazi, Regional Country Manager for Microsoft Oman and Bahrain, said.

“This is a very exciting year for Microsoft, as it witnessed the launch of a number of products and we are excited to showcase them with COMEX attendees. We will be demonstrating our latest services and products across the Cloud portfolio and the Windows platform; these innovations will enable our customers to have wider choice, flexibility and seamless integration across various devices and form factors.”

“We are thrilled to have Microsoft partaking in COMEX again this year; we consider Microsoft a Partner in our quest to bridging the digital and skill gap in the Sultanate and achieve the Vision 2020 mandate to transform Oman into a digital society.” Dr. Al Ruzaiqi applauds Microsoft’s commitment to Oman and their efforts in bringing the latest technology innovation, products and services, to the businesses and consumers in the Sultanate, adding, “In addition to making the latest technology innovation available in our local market for consumers and businesses, Microsoft is playing a major role in building our local workforce by encouraging youth to discover their talent and help them realize their full potential,” Dr. Salim Al Ruzaiqi, CEO, Information Technology Authority (ITA), said.
