University of Bahrain Admission and Registration Dean Dr Osama Abdulla Al Jowder and eGovernment Authority Marketing and Awareness Directorate Assistant Director Mohammed Ziad Asfour while honoring the winning students
The eGovernment Authority (eGA) honored 25 University of Bahrain students who won the full refund of their course fees which were paid for the second semester 2012/2013 by using ‘University of Bahrain Course Payment’ service on the national portal bahrain.bh. That is on the sidelines of Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2013, held in its sixth edition under the patronage of HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology; at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel & Spa.

University of Bahrain Admission and Registration Dean Dr. Osama Abdulla Al Jowder and eGA Marketing and Awareness Directorate Assistant Director Mohammed Ziad Asfour participated in honoring the winning students and greeted them at Bahrain IT Expo 2013 – one of the forum’s parallel events.

Students who were fully refunded their course fees included Kaltham Yaqoob Yousif Rahma, Hamda Fouad Mohammed Al-Shorooqi, Abdullah Sameer Taha Abdulwahab, Israa Abdul Jalil Radhi Al-Ashiri, Sarah Saleh Nasser Al-Meel, Al Shaima Yousef Saeed Al-Saleem, Hussain Ali Ahmed Al-Mansour, Seddiqa Ali Ahmed Al-Sheikh, Mariam Abdullah Issa Al-Garoos, Mohamed Ashour Mohammad Ali, Hussam Rashid Yousuf Al-Ansari, Sayed Hussain Sharaf Adnan Al-Mousawi, Lulwah Ahmed Ali Al-Asheera, Fatima Issa Ali Hassan, Aladdin Saleh Al-Howaizam, Ala Al-Sayed Ali Nasser Ali, Ameena Mal Allah Mohammed Ali, Ali Hameed Juma, Zaki Alam Zaki Al-Hanbali, Sadiq Salaah Hassan Rahma, Wadee’ah Ali Abdullah Ahmed, Mohammad Abdul Redha Hassan Ahmed, Roqaya Saeed Salman Mushaima, Dana Abdul Karim Isa Al-Tareef, Haneen Abdul Malek Abdul Moti Morad.

Dr. Al Jowder praised the authority’s efforts in encouraging students to use new technologies and their contribution in easing the pressure on university facilities during the registration period.

“The registration process goes more smoothly for students who complete their registration and payment process electronically, especially since students are provided with instructions on the website that guides them to complete the payment process. Through this service, they are also able to print their time schedule after paying the fees,” Dr. Al Jowder, said, who also pointed that students who wish to utilize the service must have an activated student ID and password.

Asfour assured the authority’s keenness in promoting the use of electronic services, particularly among youth who make up the largest segment of technology users. He added that the authority has sought to move the community towards electronic transformation and in particular youth, who represent the next generation, to begin embracing and applying these concepts in order to become part of their daily lives.

“As a result, we launched a range of services according to the latest ICT initiatives, to cover all areas,” Asfour, added.

In terms of eGovernment Authority’s keenness in encouraging youth to take advantage of the electronic services for payment of university fees, the authority in coordination with the University of Bahrain have opened the door once again for 20 other winning students who use the ‘University of Bahrain Course Payment’ service, which has received a large and growing demand, to be refunded their full tuition fees.
