This came when the Minister of Labor met with members of the Committee on Training and Human Resources Development in the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Dr. Hussein Mohammed Al-Mehdi.
The two sides explored scopes for cooperation in the domain of training and human resources development and linking these with recruit policy.
The Minister added that the Ministry of Labor won’t compel employers to recruit unqualified Bahraini citizens and won’t seek to employ unproductive national workforce and will provide more facilitation to employers in order to succeed in their programs for the purpose of qualifying and recruiting Bahrainis up to efficacy standards, pointing out that numerous training schemes and programs implemented by the Ministry of Labor such as the Vocational Standards Project and the National Manpower Observatory Project, amongst other projects, being implemented in cooperation with the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) will culminate in a quality transformation in the structure of the labor market in the foreseeable future.
Humaidan urged for boosting cooperation between the BCCI’s Training Committee, the Ministry of Labor and the Supreme Council for Vocational Training in the field of human resources development in order to uplift the standards of productivity in private sector installations.
Al-Mehdi praised the Ministry of Labor’s policy in the field of human resources development and training, accentuating that the Ministry’s vision features scientific methodology, pointing out that recruitment of Bahrainis is the optimum for the private sector and will achieve sustainable development and stability of the labor market.
