The undersecretary at Ministry of Health issued a decision which stipulated the formation of a working group at the Ministry of Health to confront Corona Virus.
According to the first article of the decision, a working team should be formed to promote and implement a strategy to confront Corona Virus. The team will be under the chairmanship of Undersecretary for Primary Care and Public Health, Dr. Mariam Azbee Al-Jalahma, and the membership of Director of Public Health Directorate (as Deputy-Chairman of the team), Director of Health Reinforcement Directorate, Director of Public and International Relations Directorate and the Head of Medical Services at Primary Health Care.
The membership will also include Head of Disease Control Section, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Infection Control, and the Head of the Public Health Laboratory.
The working team will be also formed from First Liaison Officer for the International Health Regulations, the Head of the group combating infectious diseases, a representative of King Hamad University Hospital, a representative of the Royal Medical Services Hospital, and a representative of the external hospitals.
The team will be assigned for a set of tasks: to develop a strategy for Ministry of Health to counter Corona Virus in the Kingdom, set forth plans and programmes and follow-up their implementation, coordination with all relevant departments and divisions at the ministry or the other specialized parties, and coordination and cooperation with the concerned governmental and civil institutions to implement the strategy of the ministry.
The working team tasks also include overcoming all obstacles encountering the implementation, and refer periodic reports to the Office of Undersecretary of Ministry of Health, containing the recommendations in this regard.
