His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa received at Sakhir Palace a delegation from the European Parliament, led by the Chair of the Delegation for Relations with the Arab Peninsula Angelika Niebler.
HM the praised deep-rooted historic relations bonding Bahrain and the EU member states affirming the keenness developing cooperation in all fields and achieving mutual interests.
HM the King reviewed with the delegation the comprehensive reforms witnessed by the Kingdom, in addition to the steps and achievements made by Bahrain in the political, economic and cultural fields.
He stressed his keenness on reinforcing Bahrain’s democratic process in order to achieve the aspirations of the people towards further progress and prosperity.
HM pointed out that the National Dialogue is on good track, engaging all the segments of the political spectrum and official authorities, adding that that the dialogue is heralding a brighter future for the Kingdom and its people.
He stressed that Bahrain is on track towards development and comprehensive reforms in all fields so as to ensure everybody’s participation in national issues.
HM affirmed that the visit of the European Parliament delegation, reflects the advanced bilateral relations and affirms resolve to consolidate co-operation and co-ordination.
He described the visit as an opportunity to update the delegation on Bahrain’s parliamentary experience and successful reforms, hailing the EU experience, being a model for integration and co-operation.
HM the King stressed the EU role and supportive efforts towards the peace process in the Middle East, and its keen interest to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and reinforce peace and stability in the region.
The delegation expressed thanks and appreciation to HM the King, for his care in developing relations between Bahrain and European countries.
