Speaking as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa marking his election as President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and member of the FIFA Executive Committee, HRH Premier congratulated him on such a milestone achievement that reflected the outstanding ability of Bahrainis and the prestigious position Bahrain enjoys at the regional and global levels in the sports and youth fields.
HRH Premier wished him every success in his new duties and Asian football further progress under his presidency.
On his part, Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa extended sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH Premier for his sound directives, trust and constant support which, he asserted, contributed to his success.
He affirmed that his election to such important international posts reflected the success of the government, chaired by HRH Premier, because it was fruitful outcome of its sound youth and sport policies and constant efforts to upgrade such an important sector.
